About Kim Learnard

A Proven, Positive Leader

Kim Learnard is the 12th mayor of Peachtree City. Since assuming office in 2022, she has led the charge to revitalize our community, improve our roads and paths, and help families and businesses thrive. She and her husband, Rob, moved to Peachtree City 26 years ago to raise their three children. Now they enjoy sharing all they love about this community with their grandchildren. Kim holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and earned her Master's in Adult Education from UGA. Her work experience includes 25 years in robotic systems and workforce development for major manufacturers. A results-oriented leader with a gift for bringing people together, Mayor Learnard fiercely protects all that we cherish about our city so future citizens can enjoy the quality of life that makes Peachtree City one of a kind.

Getting Results for PTC

Mayor Learnard's ability to bring people together is why:​​

  • Traffic solutions are underway at Hwy 54/74. This is GDOT's largest transportation improvement project in Fayette County history.

  • Peachtree City is ranked one of the Top 10 Safest Cities in Georgia. We have a fully-staffed Police & Fire Department with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Peachtree City taxpayers are getting a break on their property taxes. She lowered the millage rate, capped property value assessments, and passed a tax exemption for qualifying seniors.

  • The Mayor turned down apartments at Kmart so many times, it sat empty. Now, Ace Pickleball has moved into the space.

  • Families enjoy a rebuilt ADA playground at Picnic Park, improved play equipment citywide, and a new 400m running track at Riley Field.

  • We eliminated user fees for the splash pad and for the field lights at athletic fields and courts.

  • City council unanimously adopted an updated Recreation Master Plan in January 2025. 

  • We are moving forward with 18 outdoor pickleball courts at Meade, restrooms at Drake Field, and a Veterans Plaza at Kelly Drive Park.

  • New businesses have filled vacant storefronts in the old Stein Mart, Kmart, and Bed Bath & Beyond. Trader Joe's will open later this year.

  • Our hallmark path system has been expanded to allow for two-way cart traffic on the bridge over Lake Peachtree and better access to our schools. 

  • The city has a strong, conservative budget, a AAA bond rating, and a $31.5 million rainy day fund.

  • We launched the award-winning Navigate PTC app to help you find your way along the paths, anticipate any detours, or report a problem. 

  • Our strong business climate has earned Peachtree City the distinctive 2024 Economic Development Award at the South Metro Development Outlook Conference. 

  • Peachtree City was named one of the "Best small towns in America to raise a family" (June 2025).

  • We protect our greenspaces and are distinguished as a Tree City USA.

  • Government transparency and citizen engagement skyrocketed with the implementation of the weekly “Mondays with the Mayor” video, “The Slice” e-newsletter, and city-sponsored classes and town halls.

  • Peachtree City remains the best place to live, work, play and raise a family!
