Fighting for the Taxpayer

Mayor Learnard is a proven fiscal conservative.
Her opponent raised taxes on Peachtree City.

MAYOR LEARNARD'S PROVEN RECORD

  • Lowered the millage rate to bring families tax relief (her opponent raised taxes)

  • Froze 2026 property value assessments to protect homeowners

  • Capped future property assessment increases

  • Passed a property tax break for qualifying seniors

  • Opposed the proposed FLOST penny sales tax

  • Eliminated entry fees at the splash pad

  • Put a stop to charging citizens to use lights at city athletic courts and fields

  • Earned Peachtree City a Moody's AAA bond rating in 2023 (upgraded from AA1)

  • Passed a strong, conservative budget with a healthy rainy day fund

Her opponent says he is a "budget hawk," but he raised your taxes when he was mayor.

When Steve Brown was mayor from 2002-2005, he increased the millage rate by a whopping 22.4%, raising taxes on our residents.

Below are the charts comparing the millage rate under each candidate's term as mayor. Mayor Kim Learnard has LOWERED or maintained the millage rate each year. She fights for the taxpayer.

Millage Rate Comparison.png

What we pay in property taxes is determined by two thingsthe millage rate (set by the city) and the assessed value of your property (done by the county).  Our property values have risen in the last few years, but under Mayor Learnard, the millage rate has notshe actually lowered the millage rate twice.  Mayor Learnard has taken action to protect taxpayers from the fiscal effects of rising property assessments. By opting the city into a new law, HB581, our 2026 property value assessments are frozen and future increases are capped. Mayor Learnard fights for the taxpayer.
